Role Overview

As a Kia Technician Apprentice, you’ll join our service team and begin your career in automotive maintenance and repair. You’ll work hands-on with vehicles while undertaking Kia’s accredited apprenticeship programme, gaining practical skills and technical knowledge to eventually become a fully qualified Kia Technician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified technicians with vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs in line with Kia manufacturer standards.

  • Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.

  • Carry out basic servicing tasks such as oil changes, brake checks, tyre inspections and vehicle health checks.

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop, tools, and equipment.

  • Attend off-the-job training blocks (e.g., Kia National Training Centre) and complete required assessments as part of the apprenticeship qualification.

  • Support colleagues with daily workshop duties and customer vehicle handovers.

What You’ll Learn

  • Full technical training on Kia vehicles and electrified systems through Kia’s bespoke apprenticeship programme.

  • Manufacturer-led training on servicing procedures, diagnostics, and repair techniques.

  • How to interpret technical data, use workshop systems, and follow health & safety practices.

Entry Requirements

  • A strong interest in automotive technology and a desire to build a career as a vehicle technician.

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (often grade 4/C or above preferred).

  • Good communication skills and a positive, motivated attitude.

  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions safely.

  • Full UK driving licence ideal (but not always essential at application stage).

What You’ll Get

  • Earn a wage while you learn — National Apprenticeship Wage (varies by age and experience).

  • Kia-approved technical training and qualification (e.g., Light Vehicle Technician Level 3).

  • On-the-job experience working with the latest Kia vehicles, including hybrid and EV systems.

  • Career progression opportunities within Clarks of Kidderminster and the wider Kia network.
